In the final round of the 2021 Hero World Challenge, Jordan Spieth and Henrik Stenson teed off on the par-5 ninth hole from the par-3 17th hole tee box. Both players were assessed a two-stroke penalty and forced to re-tee from the correct tee box. They then discuss the scenario after their final rounds.

There needs to be a way to penalize the PGA for making dumb decisions in the middle of tournaments.
So the PGA marshalls didn't notice until after the fact? What the heck were they doing? It's not against any silly PGA rule for marshalls to say "Hey gents, wrong tee.". Also, it sounds to me like the course was poorly marked. I'm not sure I'd blame this on the players.
