He used to have a slight bend in his left arm which contrary to popular belief isn't actually a bad thing depending on your body mechanics

Sporty has such a chicken wing in his left arm after impact. It looks funny and nothing like any other pros swing that I can think of except maybe lee Westwood who also has a little chicken wing action. Normally that’s a technical flaw that you only ever see in amateurs and weekend warriors but somehow he’s made it work for him and it don’t hurt his consistency too much.

If anyone is wondering this is a drill that he is working on. It’s a drill that helps him get the right shoulder past the rib cage and helps him not sway his hip and he’ll stop pushing the shots out right

I saw an interview years ago where he said he wasn't very flexible. That may have been his reason to start completely straighten his right leg during his backswing. At least that's why I use that old school movement. ✌🏿✌🏿
