Scottie Scheffler returns to Austin Country Club to defend his title at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. By doing so, he would become the first person since Tiger Woods in 2004 to do so. The event will see 64 players, split into 16 groups of four compete in a round-robin format. After this, the player with the most points advances to single elimination play. Eight out of nine of the top players in the world with Ryder Cup teammates Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy both teeing it up in Texas. The Spaniard has been grouped with Rickie Fowler who, despite not winning on tour in over four years could prove a formidable opponent, having made the cut in every PGA TOUR event in 2023. McIlroy won the event in 2015 in which was the last WGC Match Play before it moved from Harding Park, California to Austin, Texas. Other notable names to look out for include 2021 winner Billy Horschel, two-time winner Jason Day and World No. 9 Viktor Hovland.

  1. Why the hell show two putts both missing for halves. That is utter rubbish. No one likes watching goddamn putting let alone putts that miss. My god.

  2. Par 4..only a 3 wood..knock it on….another par 4.. 470 yds drive-wedge its obvious that the ball speed must be limited….

  3. As usual all the hype about Rory before Masters, but as history will repeat itself again and again, he chokes when on the big stage.

  4. I'm not sure who's putting these highlights reals together but they are obviously having a shocker. We start on the 11th hole and don't get to see how Rory got to 3 up.

  5. Literally the worst highlight video ever 😅 you missed all the action, showed two tied holes and Rory is 3up, then missed key action when Bradley gets it back to 2up. Useless.

  6. His putter stroke won't last under pressure as he finishes too high off line. Until he finishes with the putter face 1/2 inch off the ground facing the target line on a consistent basis, he won't consistently win. He has the potential to string together many major wins.

Whenever the putter face finishes high, means there was an element of off line deceleration.

Whenever it finishes low & on line, that means he ROLLED the ball & imparted all the energy possible into the ball. You know it did when the end cap of the grip is directly over the putter head. Means the shaft was vertical at finish.

At the height of Dave Stockton's career, he had 960 holes without a 3-putt (53 rounds of golf). He had a 3-putt on the last day against Arnold to win his second PGA championship at Southern Hills.
