Jack could pound the ball back in the day. He doesn't get his just due as a "ball striker."

Watch the foot work. Down swing starts with left foot which was a simple way his timing was perfect. People say hips first but you cant move a hip with the left foot still up. The foot lands and the hips slide and rotate, right foot lands and hands release to full follow through. its a natural swing.
The thing I noticed was how good Nicklaus was at keeping his head still. His whole body would rotate while his head never moved.
Jack transcended golf in many ways. He was a true gentleman, a sportsman, an inspiration to millions whether they played golf or not. A once in a lifetime man and for me a legend
Why few study or emulate (ie Hogan) this swing is a mystery.
Very Talented. He also design golf courses
Truly the greatest golfer of all time (to date).
1.Jack didn't have a photo finish like popular players of this decade. 2. He still is nr.1 over all…….Majors(18) matter most. 3. Seems nobody notice his swings "end"…….with the clubs shaft almost aligned(vertical) with his spinal cord. Unlike popular swings nowadays were shaft at photo finish hang horizontal……… 4. Jack's swing is plain…..straight back and through the ball……..Clubface squared when jt matter most. He could control wrist roll action at will!
2nd GOAT
Black and white Jack was something else. Almost seems like a different person.
Strong bugger wasn’t he
The first feeling in the downswing should be lag in the grip from the rotation of the body. Don't know why YouTube golf instructors talk about everything but that. Nicklaus said he felt like he had a spike through his head into the ground that he rotated around. Take an alignment stick in your right hand (for right hand players) to the top of your swing then rotate around your neck trying to feel the lag immediately. Just a slight amount will help. You don't have to create lag like Hogan.
And he was able to play amazing golf despite his early extension . I may have a chance after all….
The best driver (distance with accuracy) of a golf ball in history.
That swing, Just a rock of consistency.
Jack owned his swing like Hogan did. Master of long irons. He was a machine and his swing looked the same throughout his career. He would have won many more times had he been a better wedge player.
So today when we refer to the best ball strikers, we are referring to those other than Jack?

huge turn and pivot and his club seems to stay on line a lot, pow!
Clutch putter.

Tiger came close, but Jack's record of 18 majors is going stand for a long, long time. And I mean a LONG time.
Give that man a sim 2 and a pro v1…
I saw him play at Memphis Open 1963. He was soooo long and swung so hard it is indelibly etched in my memory.
The G.O.A.T.
If he had used more lower body action and more foot work, he could have really made some accomplishments.😂😂
The most graceful and powerful swing that golf ever had.
Poetry in motion. I'll bet a number of today's tour players have never really seen his swing like this.
At 0:40 you can see why his setup was the key – a view not much seen on videos of him. The shaft angle lines up perfectly to his spine angle. Then its just a matter of taking it back and returning to that spine and shaft position. It is why he could swing so hard and not miss a beat in accuracy. You can freeze it at 0:49 to see it matches the address angle.
One thing to notice is how his stance with a driver became narrower as he got older.
Love it. The music is amazing.

Why it isn’t amazes me! It shows anything outside convention is white eyed
Jack really throws everything at the ball. I love his swing. My body doesn't allow this kind of swing but I admire it. My swing (I've seen it on video) looks somewhere between Nick Price on a bad day, and a turtle losing his balance falling off a log.
There have been better swings, but never a better performer. He could get in the heat and handle it.
