Michelle Wie, one of the most successful female professional golfers in history, has had a bad string of luck lately. What happened? Some people are calling it one of the biggest upsets in pro golfer history. Michelle Wie was supposed to be the next big thing in golf. But unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned.

Michelle an American professional golfer was born on 11 October 1989 in the Hawaiian capital, Honolulu. Her parents were from South Korea, but came to the US in 1980. Bo, her mother, was a former amateur Korean champion golfer.
So golfing was definitely in her blood. And at the age of 4 she started to pick up golf. And in 2000 Wie participated in a significant event that caught the attention of the media and fans for her considerable achievement.

I wouldn't call this bad news. She's moving on. Between being hurt and her dad it's no wonder she burned out! She was fun to watch and she was and probably still is an incredible golfer. I wish her the best bc she seems like a nice person! Just a kid!
Her father was the ultimate pushy parent. Talented, yes. She didn't have at least a normal childhood.
90% potential, just above average results. History is littered with people in this category. No disrespect intended towards Michelle. Life is tough on child prodigies.

MW never got any better than when she was in 19 years old, like Geoff Ogilvie the US OPen fell in her lap. I'd love to see her settle down and raise that family.

All of the freaking tape and pads and braces you would think she was a rugby player, did somebody explain to her it's a non-contact sport other than hitting a ball?
You can't say the word "retirement" without cutting off your sponsors. Come on…. wake up!!! And Michelle retire? Why bother. She hasn't placed in the top ten in a tournament in years. Just walk away…. no need for drama….

Most overrated golfer ever! Never even came close to fulfilling her potential.
Wie is a “almost made it” player. Life moves on.
MW went on to pro golf way too fast. And too much was expected of her way too young. And some people actually thought she could beat men pros. MW is an example of mismanaging a career. Slower would have been better.
She'll be fine…
Michelle knows what she’s doing and what she wants. And that’s none of our business. Leave her alone. Get on with your own lives. And let her get on with her’s.
