1986 Masters: Jack Nicklaus ✰104

At the age of 46, who would of thought that Jack would mount one of the greatest charges in Masters history to over take Seve Ballesteros and Greg Norman and win his 6th Masters. What an amazing win and achievement for the old master and record holder of 18 Majors. Enjoy and please subscribe!

  1. That 5-iron into 16 is the best pressure shot that I have EVER seen! I believe it won Jack his sixth Green Jacket.
Jack had just walked off 15 with an eagle, and then almost had a hole-in-one! Ballesteros was watching from the top of 15, with the crowd going absolutely nuts in front of him – no wonder Seve dunked his next shot in the pond! From 4 behind, Jack caught up in just two holes – my favorite moment in tournament golf!

  2. From 85-89 I worked at an appliance store (TVs VCRs washers dryers) almost every weekend. This was one of my favorite sports moments and watched at work LOL.

  3. People always brag on tiger’s cheers, but it must have been tough as a golfer to hear the golden bear’s roar. That crowd was 100% behind him.

  4. The day I fell in love with this game. I was 18, about to graduate from high school. I was alone at the house watching the tournament and it was electrifying. When my parents came home that day I asked for golf clubs for my high school graduation present, which I got 2 months later. My first set of clubs.

  5. 13:54 …. what he feels like when you get a precious gift back after 10 years, that few have ever possessed, yet some many covet. Jack knew how good this tasted & how long it had been. from this point in he was going to lock in his legendary iron focus to will this thru. most important moment of this victory. mr mojo rising.

  6. I just want to play competitive golf.
No one else on the course because it's pouring rain, but there I am, earbuds in, metal playing, hitting the best shots ever because all I can think about is how the club feels in my hands.
Relating to this guy can't be easy… can it?

  7. Anyone who says Tiger is the GOAT is a damn fool! Jack Nicklaus has much stiffer competition in his career and didn’t have the equipment we have today yet through it all Jack captured 18 major championships, finished 2nd in 19 majors, and finished 3rd in 9 majors! He had 48 top 3 finishes, 56 top 5 finishes, and 73 top 10 finishes!

That is what you call DOMINANCE!

  8. If you need to REALLY understand how great of a moment this was, and what it did to people emotionally, check out the Security Guard leading Jack into the clubhouse after the 18th hole at 18:24!!! Think I was doing the same thing at home with my Dad at 12 years old. But, even then, at that young age, you knew this was special and something that doesn't happen every day! Thanks Dad, Miss you bud.

  9. The greatest charge by the greatest golfer of all time. Listen to those roars my god especially on his tee shot at 16. 10:20 gives me chills when Weiskopf said he’s gonna fire this right at the pin. Exactly what he did.

  10. If that doesn't tear you up. Jack is the Definition of Class and a Champion. And a Great Family Man.

  11. YES SIR!!!! Say those two words to any golf fan of that era and they will know EXACTLY what you are referring to. I was stationed in Hawaii at the time so we had to get up early to catch this piece of history. Thank God for Budweiser and Terri-Burgers from Byrons! That was all us young pups needed to enjoy THE best round of championship golf I ever saw.

  12. I never tire of watching Jack's comeback! Just like secretariats Belmont stakes record. It still gives me chills!

  13. GOAT! total class act, so many major wins. He played better under pressure than anyone. I think he had 19 2nd place finishes! think about that, how many more titles could he have grabbed?

  14. The greatest champion of All GOAT'S. Humble in victory. Gracious in defeat. A man among men. The Champions champion. Mr. Jack Nicklaus.

  15. Figure that he was 8 inches away from his tee on 16 and his 1st putt on 18 combined to make those 2 shots. Not to mention in 1998, had 4 putts that he maybe missed making by a total of 15 inches. Always said that if he posted a few more strokes under in 98, he would have won. The best last 11 holes of golf ever. Saved par on #8, which started his run

  16. Not just the greatest golfer of all time, but the greatest champion of all time. Golfers today would be wise to learn from Jack (and Arnie and Hogan and Nelson) how to conduct themselves on – and maybe more importantly – off the course.

  17. I can't believe they still argue about who is the GOAT considering how easy it is to play golf anywhere in the world now and how there was a decline in golf before Tiger started playing due to a lack of good/great players playing at the time and that didn't improve for a lot of years.

Jack played against great players that won over 35 majors between with most of them winning multiple times.

28 of the players that came second toTiger only ever won one or no PGA tournaments so that's some of the calibre he played against at times so very soft victories.

Everyone can recall the names of the champions Jack played against but most struggle to name the good/great players that Tiger played against in his first 10 years.
