After winning The PLAYERS a month prior, Martin Kaymer came out firing at Pinehurst No. 2, in 2014, shooting the lowest 36-hole score in U.S. Open history.

One of the best long range putting performances I've ever seen
The work that Coore Crenshaw did at No 2 is incredible. Compare the course to previous opens. Now No 2 has a distinct look and playability that is like few others.
One of the most impressive major performances of all time. I don't think he missed a putt inside 5ft n and that's almost impossible to do at #2!
2 Majors and a Players Championship. Not too shabby. Did Kaymer play with a weak left hand grip? His stock shot was a fade, according to Zinger and Johny.
Matt Fitzpatrick at 1:11:11 waiting patiently for his turn 😏
